[ How it works ]
Pack it once. Find it in a tap.
BoxLister is a moving box inventory app: it keeps your whole move in one place so nothing goes missing, and finding things in boxes afterwards is a search rather than a hunt. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.
[ The idea ]
What a moving box inventory actually is.
A record of what went into which box, built as you pack. Everything sits in a simple chain, and you never manage more than one level at a time.
A move holds your rooms. Each room holds its boxes. Each box holds the items you packed into it. Moving more than one place at once? Start another move.
[ Three steps ]
Organise, track, find.
- 01Organise
Set up your move, room by room
Create a move, add the rooms you’re packing into, and start making boxes. Give each box a number or a name and drop it in a room. Label it however suits you: written on, a blank sticker, or a printed QR code.
- 02Track
Add what you pack as you pack it
As things go into a box, add them to its list. Flip the box’s status as you go so you always know what’s still open, what’s packed, and what’s sealed and ready for the truck.
- 03Find
Search the item, get the box
On the other side of the move, type what you need. BoxLister points you to the exact box and room it’s in, so you open one box instead of ten. No lid-lifting, no signal required.
[ Box status ]
Always know what’s ready to go.
Every box carries one of four statuses, colour-coded so a room tells you its state at a glance.
Box created, still filling it.
Full, not sealed yet.
Taped and ready to move.
Emptied at the new place.
[ Search ]
Type the thing. Get its box and room.
Search runs across everything you’ve added and groups the matches: items first, then boxes and rooms. Tap an item and it opens the box it’s in. That’s the whole promise, kept in one tap.

Works fully offline
BoxLister runs on your phone, not a server. Adding items, flipping status, and searching all work with no signal, which is exactly the state of a moving truck and a half-connected new place.
Label it your way
A number, a name, or a blank sticker: whatever is quickest. Prefer to scan? Print a QR label for a box and open it straight from your camera. QR is optional, not required.
